Great stay at the Hôtel de la Presse! The location is ideal, right in the center of Bordeaux, perfect for doing everything on foot. The hotel is open 24 hours a day, which is super convenient, and the luggage storage is really great for leaving your belongings in peace. Clean room, comfortable bed, and the breakfast is also very good, varied and plentiful. The staff is welcoming and helpful. I recommend it without hesitation!

The pluses: attentive welcome, good-sized and well-equipped room, ok bathroom, central location, very good bedding. The minuses: the exterior and interior soundproofing is really deficient: for example, opening the doors with a key can be heard very loudly from one room to another.

Very welcoming and accommodating staff

Aside from the charming staff, the quality of the accommodation was very disappointing. The rooms were dim (the windows overlooked the wall of the building opposite). In one room, the bathroom and toilet were in the same room as the bed. In the other, the shower didn't close, forcing you to contort yourself to avoid flooding the entire bathroom. Avoid!

This is a 3-star hotel that's well worth it. Everything is comfortable, the welcome is high-quality, and the location is great. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is a bit narrow but more than adequate.

The hotel is located in the center of Bordeaux, in the best area of the city. On a pedestrian street lined with clothing stores and bars and restaurants. Getting there from the airport takes about 45 minutes by tram, which is very easy. To explore Bordeaux, you can walk to practically anywhere. The hotel has been renovated, with a new room, a very comfortable bed, air conditioning, and the best part is the attentiveness of the reception and cleaning staff. They are delightful and help you with anything you need.

Best location, nice and clean, very good price

The hotel's location is a plus. The room size is perfectly adequate. However, a strong drain smell during our stay marred the overall experience. Since the hotel was full, we were unable to change rooms, and we regret that no action was taken by management. Since the staff is exclusively on training and work-study programs, they cannot take any responsibility.

Pleasant staff, daily room cleaning. Quality bedding. On the other hand, the room was very humid with a rather unpleasant smell, damp or mold stains in some places, skirting boards damaged by humidity, which detracts from the perceived quality and the overall experience.

This hotel is a hidden gem, in Bordeaux's pedestrian area. Shops, restaurants, cafes at your finger tips. Helpful and pleasant staff 24 hours. Quiet and comfortable room, and a fabulous breakfast. If you are thinking of booking, just do it, you won't be disappointed.

The best hotel in its central location, a mano de todo. The habitación de tamaño pequeña pero para una corta estancia no necesitas más. The bedroom is large and very comfortable. Only one criticism: the pressure of the shower was very low, it was a small shock. The pressure of the sink and toilet is low, but it is unlikely that the alcachofa will be blocked by success.

Charming hotel in the center of Bordeaux. Easy access by foot. Staff are very attentive and really helpful. The Classic room was very comfortable and the bed was heaven. Very quiet considering the central placement of the hotel. Breakfast was good. I absolutely recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a hidden jewel of a restaurant for dinner, try Palatino, you won't be disappointed.

Although the very friendly staff agreed to change my room because the initial one was noisy upon my arrival, the quantity of services is very contrasted compared to the price of the night. Indeed, no hot water, no water pressure, no insulation between the rooms, waking up at 6am by a couple banging their bed against the wall for 3 minutes... Disappointing. The breakfast is worth the price. Fortunately the staff is very pleasant, friendly, attentive and accommodating.

From the welcome to the departure, everything was perfect!

If the location of the hotel is ideal, the quality of the rooms is far from what one imagines in the photo: mold and degraded paint in the bathroom, poorly fixed electrical outlet, poorly fixed shelf and lack of insulation with the corridor. On the other hand, the people in charge of the reception are all charming.

El hotel está magníficamente situado en el centro de Burdeos y en general está bien, pero nuestro habitación que era enorme tenía un baño demasiado pequeño, apenas 1 metro cuadrado en el que había que entrar y salir de lado a la ducha.
Por lo demás, el desayuno correcto y la atención del personal también correcta.

The hotel is very stripped, old carpets, old paint, a window with no water, and little desayuno. The installations in general are very descuidadas. At the cost of having the reservation with 3 months of advance notice requested that the reserved accommodations (of superior category) have views and I have been assigned without sight seeing a wall that is less than 3 meters away and does not enter the natural light . Disastrous breakfast: the coffee machine is malfunctioning and the person I am speaking to does not understand anything (she hardly speaks French). The second person who intervenes takes me for an idiot by explaining to me how a coffee maker works, but does not solve the problem... We had to ask for our omelette 3 times, and it was disgusting. We were woken up by the staff who broke into our room while we were still in bed. The receptionist received our complaint politely without making a "commercial gesture" We come to Bordeaux quite often and we are due to stay at your hotel on April 9. The reception staff is great and the location too. However, the cleanliness clearly needs to be reviewed. The hotel is not soundproofed at all. The bathroom is very humid (sewer smell and mold on the wall and ceiling). We will not return to this hotel.

Good location! The strong points; spacious room, well equipped, great shower, staff present 24/7 and pleasant welcome! The points to improve; soundproofing of the rooms you can hear a lot of people walking above, thin partitions on neighboring customers. And especially the disappointing quality of the breakfast (buffet practically empty at 9:45 am) we reported it, good commercial gesture on the part of the person at reception!

The staff at this hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is ideally located, although the rooms on the street are noisy. I was surprised to see so many small repairs pending for a 3 star hotel: paint on the walls, curtains that are too long and drag on the floor, nothing to hang the towel in the bathroom, broken toilet paper dispenser...

Fantastic location, just opposite the shopping street. Extremely kind staff. They offered an umbrella when it was raining and allowed us to sit in their lounge to wait as we were too early for check in. Really great stay. Clean room. Comfortable. Safe.

Too bad the bathroom is not separate from the bedroom

Very strong smell of sewage in the room, especially in the bathroom. Oil bath heating on a power outlet, very strange. A placo partition is dented. This room would need some work before being rented.

Quite disappointed with the hotel. When we arrived the shower hose was leaking. The next day, the water was leaking even more, almost no flow, until the shower hose fell off and was therefore impossible to put back. The staff were unable to put it back in place either. We were asked to go down to a room to take our shower because apparently no room was available. The next day when we returned to the room, no towels were available. We called reception to have bath towels brought up. We were only given two bath towels and no hand towels or a shower mat. We found cleaning cloths that had not been collected. So we were assigned. A single room only suitable for one person. Unsuitable room for two people where you could hardly move around. The room assigned was only suitable for one person, especially for hanging towels, for example. While the reservation was made for two people. A fairly poor quality/price ratio and a service that was not up to par.

The hotel is well located in the center, downside, non-existent soundproofing, the noise from the street is unbearable at 2 a.m. No shutters, just curtains that do not completely close the window frame, the light from the street lamp illuminated the entire room. The bathroom is in a state of cleanliness that leaves something to be desired. Mold in various places, the shower cubicle with doors that do not close and are on the verge of coming off. A complete renovation would have been welcome.

The place was excellent very close to the center and tram...The girls in the reception very kind..We booked two single rooms but mine was like a prison. And dangerous..A curtain next to the bed was too high so I shuffled my feet..the bed was the size for a child...Too small and the view from the windows was a wall.The ac made a noise that you could not sleep..so I wasn't using it and was feeling cold all day.No cleaning last day so I hadn't towels and toilet paper. I was complaining but they told me they had no other available..or I had to see it in the internet.the internet is not real. You can't realize the size. I am very sorry about my stay there.

In my opinion, this establishment does not deserve its 3 stars, but rather 2. In the bathroom, nothing to hang towels, cramped closet, no mirror, dust under the tray located below the window, empty Kleenex box, small room. In addition, the hotel is not responsible for it, but at night there is noise pollution from the tramps and others who are in the dead end located next to the hotel. Entrance belies what's inside! This hotel is in the very center and the entrance is small an unassuming but once we got in the lift and went up to our room we had a lovely surprise. Spacious bedroom, very comfortable and quiet, small but perfectly adequate bathroom, lovely light dining room for breakfast which was fresh and very good. Staff helpful, polite and professional. Location 10/10. Being in the center, which is pedestrian, the parking lot was about a 10 minute walk (with luggage) but with a huge discount and it's always good to forget the car.

Very disappointing for a 3 star! 1st night tiny room....really tiny tiny bed no decoration and against the elevator! 2nd night a little better by paying more for a normal room with finally some decoration but still against the elevator... Correct staff

This can be rejuvenated with a return to university residence because the room is tiny with a window that overlooks a wall. The carpet on the landing is old and dirty. On the other hand, the welcome was very warm and the overall cleanliness of the mini room was correct.

The room was a bit small, with lack of space around the bed. There wasn´ta place for the luggage in the room. The bathroom was also small and without enough hangers. The blinds were inefficient.

The room smelled like sewers coming up. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling and around the shower, as well as between the tiles. Also, the paint was peeling off the shower ceiling. Definitely not what I expect from a 3 star hotel. On the other hand, the staff is great. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also very well located.

I booked a premium room with a picture of a balcony on bookings.com I also sent an email requesting a room specifically with a balcony and was emailed back that the room would be available for my request at no extra charge. The room was not available, but I was offered breakfast. I actually only booked this hotel for the balcony. So was very disappointed.
