The hotel is well located and the staff provides excellent service and hospitality. However, the room I was assigned had very old and stained carpeting and the bathroom was covered in mold from floor to ceiling. Perhaps the managers are not aware that this mold is toxic to their staff and guests.

Stayed 2 nights with breakfast. Pleasant stay. Very good and quality food. Attentive staff. On the other hand, the carpet and the bathroom of room number 4 are not in line with the quality of the restaurant. A facelift would be necessary. Too bad the parking lot closes so early in the evening, which means you have to park outside the hotel
This new stay in this hotel confirmed its quality of accommodation and welcome. The hotel was closed when we arrived but everything was done to facilitate our installation. The welcome and service are perfect thanks to a pleasant and attentive team. We were in a very recently renovated room, quiet and very clean. I recommend this establishment with complete confidence.

Perfect in every way
The hotel is ok for a one-night stopover. The room is no longer up to date and needs to be renovated, but overall clean. The staff is very nice. Quiet location, our room was at the back. The breakfast is simple, but ok and in line with expectations due to the price in a 3*. The bed would be better in 160 and the mattress could be more qualitative.

Authentic hotel that I come to very regularly. the welcome and service are pleasant and professional. Just a small downside: there are a few additional electrical outlets missing in the rooms for connecting devices (computer, telephone, etc.)

Nice hotel restaurant in the center of Chauvigny. Impeccable cleanliness, comfortable room, secure parking in the hotel courtyard.

Hotel is situated in the centre of a very picturesque town which has medieval origins. Room was located in the annex and was comfortable if not overly spacious. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, also good breakfast in the morning with coffee which was not from a machine and one of the best croissants I have ever tasted! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good parking in the interior courtyard of the hotel. In all, a good overnight stay in a lovely location.

hotel to recommend
Certainly the hotel deserves a facelift, but it is clean and the evening stopover is really interesting given the value for money. The rooms are spacious and it is not cramped. I spent 3 nights there and I am very satisfied. The meal is copious and tasty, it is well made with good taste surprises and creativity, congratulations to the chef. The staff are also friendly and welcoming.

Centrally located hôtel with private parking . Friendly staff. Great food. Accommodation was out the back of the hotel, through the carpark into a separate accommodation building. The room was very basic, the bathroom was modern but the twin beds were too hard.

We stay at Hotel Le Lion D'Or every year on our journey south to the Dordogne. It is very conveniently located in Chauvigny. The rooms are simple but very clean and well presented. We always eat in the restaurant because the food is excellent and also the wines. Everything is reasonably priced and good value. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
The staff were very nice. They were attentive and helpful. The restaurant service was good with time between each course. The food was of a good standard with plenty to eat for the price. The bedroom was basic but comfortable enough. The bathroom had a good walk-in shower but the toilet seat needed fixing. Parking was limited which we viewed as a downside. Otherwise the hotel was very good overall and we would be happy to stay there again.

Very clean establishment. Competent and very pleasant staff. The meals are excellent.
Whilst the staff were friendly and the food was rather good, the hotel needed upgrading and refreshing. The decor and terrace were mediocre. The room was small and smelly. The carpet was unacceptably stained and dirty. The room needed redecorating as did the hallway and general areas, although the shower was reasonable. I expected a better standard of room from Logis de France and was disappointed.

Dirty, very dirty. Very noisy. No air conditioning .... The cramped shower stall lined with mold, dirty toilet, dusty carpet, tiny tv impossible to adjust the dark image. It was a stage to reach the southwest, we spent a sleepless night, left even more tired. 70€ per night is theft! To flee !

A very welcoming and very helpful staff, a very good restaurant at moderate prices... The rooms are well done but 2 things are missing: a place to put your toilet bag in the bathroom (very spacious by the way) and air conditioning. Otherwise it is very clean and well located.

Outdated room small and no elevator. little space in bathroom wrong light / the restaurant had eg. No salad on the menu .. did not know what a radler was service ok
Very clean hotel, professional and very pleasant staff, the restaurant is excellent. The hotel car park is really small but a public car park is glued to the establishment.
Bedroom 4: Stains on the carpet, sanitary facilities in an incredible state of wear, (filthy toilet bowl), tiny shower accessible by a dangerous inclined plane) faulty door lock, resulting in a door slamming each time it is opened, view of the courtyard noisy interior (the manager replied that we couldn't control everything), steep stairs, no automatic lighting, (and no help offered for the luggage!), only the bottom of the bed was as shown in the photos, refusal to book a parking space in the courtyard, while another site (Booking.com) indicated "parking to reserve". In short, a very disappointing stage, despite the interest of the small town of Chauvigny.
The breakfast was a disappointment. Bread too hard. Everyone got some kind of gun and then you had to keep asking for more. Same for coffee. Too few choices.
